PUBLIC NOTICE FOR PROPOSED RULES


STATE OF WYOMING
DEPARTMENT OF FAMILY SERVICES
Certification of Providers of Substitute Care Services for Children


Public Notice is hereby given that the Department of Family Services (DFS) intends to amend the following rules:
Certification of Providers of Substitute Care Services For Children, Chapters 1-7, 10 and 14; add Chapter 16; and repeal Chapters 8, 9, 12, 13 and 15.

DFS shall amend the rules to provide clarity, provide for distinction in substitute care programs and repeal substitute care programs not represented in Wyoming.  The goal of these revisions is to reflect best practices and enhance safety for children in licensed facilities and programs.

Copies of the proposed rules may be obtained upon request from DFS at the address below. 

The public comment period is from June 23, 2017 through August 11, 2017.

A public hearing on the rules will be held by DFS if requested by twenty-five (25) persons, by a governmental subdivision, or by an association having not less than twenty-five (25) members.  Requests for a hearing should be directed to DFS at the address above by the date specified.  Any person may urge the agency not to adopt the rules and also request the agency to state its reasons for overruling the consideration urged against the Certification of Providers of Substitute Care Services for Children. Interested parties may request a statement of DFS’ position regarding each comment and the action taken as a result of the comments prior to, or within 30 days after the amendment of these rules.  Requests shall be submitted to the above address. If requested, the statement will be issued by DFS within 30 days after DFS’ action.
