Telephone Assistance (TAP)

TAP is a service provided by telephone companies to help people and families maintain landline or cell phone. The program is open to anyone enrolled in SNAP, LIEAP, Medicaid or other social service programs. Your telephone company can tell you specifically how you can benefit.

The Lifeline and Telephone Assistance Program allows customers to receive discounts of up to $9.25 off their local monthly service rates if they meet program-based or income-based eligibility requirements.

You can print an application here. (The application also includes phone company contact information, and all questions about the program should be directed to your telephone company.)
