Child Care

Early Childhood Programs Division

Early Childhood Division staff focus on improving the quality of and access to child care. Staffers work to ensure the safety of children in out-of-home care facilities, including child care programs and youth residential programs, through the licensing of these facilities and by offering technical assistance. We administer the Child Care Development Fund (CCDF) to help low-income families pay for child care and provide programs to improve the quality of child care.

To request Technical Assistance/Coach:

DFS would like to introduce a new service available to Early Childhood Programs: Technical Assistance Coaching.  The Resource, Referral, and Technical Assistance Unit is offering information, tools, individualized training, and other supports to Child Care facilities by request.  TA Coaches bring together resources from Child Care Licensing and many field specific partners to assist child care providers with specific issues or to assist in improving the overall quality of their program.
